1 Pet. 2a: Be built on Solid Rock—on Probing the Prophets with Rod
Continuing with the Practical Response to Prophetic Realities, Peter urged his audience to grow. Take off the old clothes (way of life) and put on the new ones. Be like babes that thirst and cry out for milk–the milk of the word. It tastes so good!
Then, become part of the new Temple (Ezek. 40–44). Consider the preciousness of Jesus, the Cornerstone. Consider your role as precious, living stones. Prepare heart and mind to offer true sacrifices to God.
Do not “get stoned” (an inadequate escape mechanism); and don’t worry about being stoned (an extreme form of social rejection); but be a stone in God’s new temple!
