CHSAA state basketball tournament altered again due to snowstorm

The CHSAA state basketball tournament has been altered for a second time due to the major snowstorm rolling through the Front Range.

Teams now have the option of playing its Great 8 quarterfinal matchups Monday or Tuesday, the Colorado High School Activities Association announced Sunday, with the Final Four round getting moved to Thursday and the first set of championship games moving from Friday to Sunday, March 21.

The quarterfinals had originally been scheduled for last Saturday, but were moved in anticipation of the storm hitting Colorado. The higher seeded team will host games in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, with the championships played this weekend at The Broadmoor World Arena.

The five championship games originally scheduled for Friday (Class 1A boys and girls, 4A boys and girls, and 5A girls) will now be played Sunday. The other five championship games (Class 2A and 3A boys, 3A boys and girls, and 5A boys) are still set for Saturday.
