From Luke’s propositional beginning–“Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6)–to his dramatic conclusion–“Let it be known to you therefore, that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen.” (Acts 28:28)–he traces the history of God reaching into history to save whomever would respond and to restore Israel’s kingdom to Messianic Glory.
