This chapter begins with “for”; that’s gotta mean something!
A new and living way, cleansing of the heavenly things, eternal redemption and high-priestly emergence unto salvation—all concepts from chapter 9—had to take place because the shadow-filled Law couldn’t do it. “Scrub” as much as they did with their perpetual sacrifices, washings and rituals, those priest of Aaron could not get rid of sin-stain.
THEREFORE, Yahweh foretold the coming of One who would “Do Thy Will”; Jesus. He came in a body for sacrifice so He could take away all the rituals. He also was in the process of “taking away” that first covenant in order that the second might become established.
One and done! That should be His catch-phrase. “One and done” describes the perfect, complete finality of His sacrifice. What they, through 1500 years could not accomplish, He in one victorious offering achieved! Thus, there is no longer offering for sin (which means the Temple is also antiquated and ready to be removed!)
Looking forward to sharing some life-altering ideas with you.
