The safest cities in Colorado, ranked by SafeWise
SafeWise, a website that analyzes safety trends, has released a report that lists which cities are the safest in Colorado.
The top five cities that have been ranked the safest include Frederick, Milliken, Severance, Lamar and Firestone. Denver ranked 56th, with Forth Collins at 25th and Boulder at 32nd.
SafeWise looked at the Federal Bureau of Investigation crime statistics and data from the population census.
“Our evaluation is based on the number of reported violent crimes (aggravated assault, murder, rape and robbery) in each city,” according to a news release. “If there was a tie, we also factored in the number of property crimes (burglary, arson, larceny-theft and motor vehicle theft).”
The purpose of the rankings and research intends to not only show which cities have low crime rates, but also spark conversation and action around making communities safer.
